Our Journey
A request from a nutrition professor at the University of Porto led to the creation of Lipotool by the Faculty of Engineering. This digital skinfold calliper is designed for body composition assessment, and its innovation resulted in patents in both the US and Europe.
In August 2017, Tiago Andrade, one of the Lipotool's original inventors, transitioned from Academia and joined forces with seasoned entrepreneur Ricardo Moura. By August 2018, they co-founded Wisify Tech Solutions, obtaining a license for the technology from the University of Porto.
Today, the device is known as Lipowise, seamlessly integrated into Wisify's mobile apps. This transformation represents the evolution of an academic breakthrough into a cutting-edge tech solution for body composition assessment.
