Rosscraft Segmometer
The Rosscraft Segmometer is a revolutionary tool for measuring lengths, evolving from a prototype originally designed for anthropometric use in Nigeria by Dr. Linda Blade. The initial model utilized a retractable carpenter or engineer’s tape, enhanced with cotter-pin pointers affixed using rubber bands and epoxy glue. This innovative design proved to be as accurate, if not superior, to classical anthropometers for measuring projected heights and direct segmental lengths.
Further refined in Australia through the Kinanthropometric Aquatic Sports Project, the Segmometer now represents the cutting edge in anthropometric measurement tools. The Rosscraft models dispense with the traditional housing, utilizing only a flexible tape with precision-machined base and slider indicators for ultimate accuracy. These new models are setting the standard for precision and reliability in certification courses.
Features:
- HIGHLY ACCURATE: Precision-machined base and slider indicators ensure consistent and reliable measurements, whether for direct lengths or projected heights.
- COMPACT DESIGN: The flexible tape is easy to handle and eliminates the need for bulky housings, making it highly portable and user-friendly.
- RELIABLE: Tested and used in professional research, including the Kinanthropometric Aquatic Sports Project, the Segmometer 4 is trusted by experts for its precision.
- DURABLE: Built to withstand regular use, making it an essential tool for professional anthropometry.
Cleaning Instructions: Clean the blade and case with an alcohol / sani wipe. Wipe the blade completely dry with a cloth or towel before retracting the blade to prevent rusting.
